Our sail boat
ODILE - a 12 Meter Sailing Boat
Odile is a sailing yacht built by the French shipyard Dufour Yachts, model D40 Performance. It features elegant lines and excellent sailing performance — lively and responsive, ideal for fast cruising.
The keel's draft of 2.10 meters ensures great sailing efficiency, especially when sailing upwind.
The hull has modestly flared topsides, a low freeboard, and only slightly pronounced overhangs. The low, streamlined coachroof leaves ample space for the wide side decks, which merge forward of the mast where the deck is completely free of obstructions.
The cockpit is spacious and welcoming, divided in two by the mainsheet traveler, which is located forward of the steering pedestal, separating the helm area from the guest seating area.
Below deck, the generous volumes are surprising: the high ceilings (1.95 meters) and the modest flare of the hull sides give the interior a very spacious feel.
The presence of numerous portholes ensures proper ventilation and highlights the warm tones of the Madei wood used for the furnishings.
The interior layout includes a double cabin in the bow (bed size 2.4 x 1.85 m) and two identical double cabins aft (bed size 1.95 x 1.30 m), served by two toilets.
The dinette, composed of two settees along the hull sides with a folding-leaf table in between, is large enough to accommodate up to 8 people and is well proportioned to the rest of the saloon. The larger settee in the dinette can be converted into a bed for two people.
To port, there is an L-shaped galley, complete with a double sink, top-loading fridge (no freezer), gimballed stove with oven, and plenty of spacious cabinets and drawers to store kitchen utensils, dishes, and food supplies.
Opposite the galley there is the Chart table area.
Under the companionway steps is the engine compartment, which houses a 55 HP Volvo-Penta engine with Sail-drive transmission, powered by a 160-liter stainless steel fuel tank.
The water system has excellent autonomy, with two independent 165-liter polyethylene tanks.
